February 2012  With the expansion of the AEJF the Founders have decided to put clubs into regions, and it is anticipated to commence this movement as from 1st March.  There will be a Region committee consisting of chair-person, Secretary, Treasurer and Coach so if there is anyone who would be interested in taking up one of these positions please let Christine know by return.  we will be known as the Eastern Region along with Mersea Island, Blackwater, Boreham and New Isshindo Kan Judo Clubs.
 16.12.11     On behalf of all the Judoka and Officials at stanway Judo club, we would like to thank our Helpers/Instructors from Stanway and other clubs whom have given up their own time to help Dale run the club.  Your valuable help has been much appreciated.  thank you.
 6.11.11....... Greg continued his success from the grading by winning a Silver Trophy at a groundwork competition in Basildon against some stiff opposition from all over the South East area.
Also at this event, 13 year old Louise Hewitson battled well to win a Gold trophy against a higher grade and Hannah Sowman, 9, won a bronze in a tough group. Her brother Jacob was unlucky in his group just missing out. Thank you to those judoka who supported the event for Stanway.
 23.10.11    

Today at the AEJF National Grading,  three judoka took part and performed with good etiquette.  Well done to  junior James Hutton, who gained Green plus 1 blue tag.  Our Two Seniors although demanding against heavier judoka did extremely well - Amal Martucci gaining his Senior Blue and Gregory Vincent gaining his Lower Brown.  A comment from a Senior Grading Officer said how impressed he was with Amal - a reflection of his hard work and determination and a credit to our Club.

14.10.11  Tonight some of our novices who have been doing judo a couple of months, gained tags at their first club grading.  Well done to those that took part.

23.08.11   We are sorry to lose Alexander Humphrey - he has been a great asset as an Assistant Club Instructor at the club, but congratulations goes to him for attaining his qualiifcations to get into the University of his choice to go into the teaching profession.  Well done Alex, hope to see you in September before you start college.  

 15.7.11        As we are coming to the end of this term, we would like to thank Kane and Michael for their support in helping out with the first class.  We wish you both every success in your college and university career.
 24.6.11   Congratulations to the new novice judoka whom have just completed their first club grading.  Dale was very impressed with your homework on the syllabus - keep it up.
15.5.11          Well done to Louise who represented our Club at an AEJF Closed event today for Orange belt and above and came away with a Gold and silver Trophy.
1.4.11            We were very pleased to welcome judoka from Blackwater Judo club to join our training session tonight.  This was good for both clubs to train with other judoka.  thank you to Lorraine and Lynda for taking the trouble to come along - you are welcome back anytime.
18/25.3.11    What two great nights with this years Annual Club Championships.  It was pleasing to see improvements with judo and good etiquette.  There were many surprises and enjoyed by all.  Well done judoka for supporting this event.  We also had the pleasure of Sensei John Pegram 6th Dan (Secretary of the All England Judo Federation)  come along to present the trophies and award Dale with his 3rd Dan certificate.
 7.2.11            Tonight Stanway Judo club was awarded a Certificate of commendation at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards for 2010.  This was a great honour for the club.
 6.2.11            Jacob and Hannah attended the AEJF Open event to day.  There were some 175 competitors and after determined effort by both players they came away with a Bronze trophy - well done to you both.
 6.2.11            Today Dale was awarded his 3rd Dan Black Belt from the All England Judo Federation.  Well done Dale, nice to see you get a surprise as well.

 28.1.11        Congratulations to Alexander for gaining his Assistant Club Instructor award by completing the tasks and essay set out for him by the club.  Well done !.

17.12.10        Tonight we had a surprise visit from the AEJF Secretary Sensei John Pegram 6th Dan, who came along to present  certificates to Christine and Peter for their recently awarded 1st Dan Black Belt (Honorary).  It was a lovely surprise and good of John to turn up.

12.11.10       Tonight Gregory Vincent was awarded Assistant Club Instructor recognition for completing the tasks set out for him by the club.  Gregory has worked hard to gain this award and we all congratulate him on putting in the effort. 

10.10.10     Congratulations to the judoka who graded to day at Mersea.  A fine performance from you all. Juniors grading at their first Nationals - well done.  Also for Gregory's first Senior grading a hard fought contest and well deserved to Senior Blue (2nd Kyu).  Sensei Dale very pleased.

        The Club enjoyed real success today at the A.E.J.F National Championships held at Maldon. All 7 entrants won trophies as follows:-
Gold : Amal , Silver : Jacob , Conor and Anil. Bronze : Hannah , Sam  and Greg .
In addition, Club organisers Christine and Peter Barnett were awarded Honorary 1st Dan Black Belts in recognition of their services to Judo over the last 30 years.
