DALE: AEJF Qualifications Regional Referee, County Coach, Intermediate TKR, Grading Officer
He started judo during 1979. He achieved his 2nd Kokyo (Yellow Belt) in 1980 but unfortunately the club closed so Dale stopped for a few years. In 1985 he started training again and achieved his 4th Kokyu (Junior green Belt) in 1987 before turning sixteen. Dale went on to achieve his 1st kyu (Senior Brown Belt) in 1993, 1st Dan was awarded in 1996 followed by 2nd Dan in 2003. Dale's 3rd Dan was awarded 6th February 2011.
His competitive spirit showed through by the winning of many trophies, including national events. Dale took over the running of Stanway Judo Club from brother-in-law Martyn in 2004. He has two children; his ten year old son Jacob, has won Gold in the Essex Youth Games competition and trophies at various competitions and his daughter Hannah, who at six, became the A.J.A. National Open Champion in 2008. Dale is a Life Member of the Amatuer Judo Association and was qualified as S.E. Area Grading Officer, Area Referee and Senior Club Coach. Is C.R.B. checked and has attended a First Aid Course.
